Employment Resources Inc. is a private, entrepreneurial, non-profit entity dedicated to assisting individuals reach their employment goals. ERI operates two One-Stop Career Centers offering free job search services open to all and builds community based partnerships to serve the hard-to-employ.

Our goal as a workforce development organization is to provide paths to self-sufficiency through family-sustaining wages.

ERI’s mission is to provide workforce development services to individuals so they can realize their full economic and social potential, and to strengthen and assist our community partners who share our goal. ERI is committed to excellence in performance, continuous quality improvement and to the satisfaction of its customers.

ERI operates three main programs:

• Established in 1983 by the City of Cambridge.
• ERI was originally the Service Delivery Agency for Metro North Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) Service Delivery System.
• In 1996, ERI won a competitive bid from the Regional Employment Board to operate Career Source
• Last year Career Source served 9,112 people and more than 437 employers.
• 48% of Career Source’s clients are minorities: 21% Hispanic, 17% African American or Haitian, 7% Asian and the remainder are Native Americans, Pacific Islanders or other nationalities.
• Career Source staff speaks several languages including Chinese, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese and English.
• 98% of Career Source’s clients rated services as good or excellent.
• 84% of employers rated Career Source’s services as good or excellent.
• ERI services these Metro North communities: Arlington, Belmont, Burlington, Cambridge, Chelsea, Everett, Malden, Medford, Melrose, North Reading, Reading, Revere, Somerville, Stoneham, Wakefield, Watertown, Wilmington, Winchester, Winthrop and Woburn.
• ERI has staff of 55 people
• ERI has recruited and retained highly qualified senior management. Most have been with ERI for more than six years.
