Nonprofit Fiscal Sponsorship
Building and supporting your capacity to serve
Massachusetts values its nonprofit community and we are proud to be a part of it, and our goal is to support the capacity of other nonprofits in their development, so if you recently started or plan to have a charitable organization and need a fiscal agent, you may be eligible for our program. We are here to support you, and offer the following as a guide to help you evaluate if fiscal sponsorship with us is right for you.
- Mission. Are you an organization that sees itself as contributing to the economic growth of your community or its residents?
- Organization’s Experience & Expertise. Do you have staff or volunteers who work at least half time for the organization and who possess the expertise necessary to enable the organization to fulfill its mission?
- Financial Capacity. Does the organization have a minimum of $100,000 in annual funding already raised or pledged? If not, is there a viable fund-raising strategy in place that will allow the organization to reach that goal within three years?
- Board leadership. Is there someone who serves in this capacity with the ability to understand and approve the terms of the fiscal sponsorship letter?
- Partnership Commitment. Will the organization commit to a partnership with us? We prefer to work with organizations that can commit to a three year sponsorship. Fiscal sponsorship requires a significant investment of our time, and we need to be able to recoup the cost of your on-boarding and eventual transition out. We want your efforts to be successful, and our investment of time and resources to be leveraged by a true commitment to partnership.
